Reverend Ruth Fry
Minister with responsibility for the Alpha Hub
I’m the Minister of the churches in the Alpha Hub (Catshill, Lickey End, St Andrews,
Crabbs Cross and Alcester)
I was ordained in Derby in 2018 having trained for ministry at the Queens Foundation in Birmingham. Prior to this I was a secondary school music teacher and taught music to GCSE and A level in schools in Leamington Spa, Redditch, Birmingham and Hagley. I play the flute and piccolo and enjoy listening to a wide range of music from jazz to folk, classical and world music and I love going to concerts and gigs whenever I can.
I am married to Adrian who is a wonderful support and a talented amateur actor, and we have a son Harvey who is studying for a degree in zoology. As a family we particularly enjoy being in nature and can often be found out walking in the countryside exploring all it has to offer.
My first appointment as a Presbyter was in the Southampton district and although we loved living in Hampshire and especially in the fabulous city of Winchester it’s good to be back in the West Midlands where Adrian and I met and were married and where Harvey was born. Cadbury’s chocolate and Aston Villa football club here we come!
I have a particular interest in reflective pastoral supervision, and I am also an avid reader of feminist theology. I am an accredited supervisor in the Methodist Church and very much enjoy this aspect of my ministry. I’m excited to have been stationed in the Bromsgrove and Redditch circuit from September 2025 as the Minister serving the churches in the Alpha Hub.
