Peace Sunday is an opportunity for the church to pause and reflect on what it means to follow the Prince of Peace today. The Fellowship of Reconciliation encourages churches to have a service on the Sunday closest to the UN International Day of Peace (21st September).

This year we are thinking about how we make time for peace in ourselves, our communities and our lives. It’s an invitation to celebrate what we already do and an invitation to take one more action for peace.

It is a good opportunity to remind ourselves that we have a centre in our locality, led by a Methodist Minister Rev Helen Lawson, which is dedicated to the promotion of Justice, Reconciliation and Peace. It is The Greenhouse at Barnes Close. If we do little else Peace Sunday provides us with the opportunity to pray for ministry of The Greenhouse and consider supporting it where we can.
