Reverend Richard Wilde

Superintendent Minister
Associated Circuit Locations: Bromsgrove Lickey End Alcester
Born on a farm in Northamptonshire Richard began in the world of work firstly as a relief stockman/tractor driver then, after qualifying in Building Construction changed direction to earn a living as a construction fencing and agricultural contractor. His life made a total change of direction after discovering a real and living Christian faith. After voluntary work in youth and lay preaching he was called to training for ordination as a minister of word, sacrament and pastoral care.
He has led and served churches for nine years in Zimbabwe then in England - rural Warwickshire, urban Black Country and now as superintendent minister in Bromsgrove and Redditch. He is married to Olive and together they have 5 adult children and now 7 grandchildren.

Richard is most at home with a blend of contemporary and broadly traditional worship. His leadership style in church and with staff is informal and inclusive believing the church is at her best when we work in teams allowing others to find and use gifts and talents. He loves travel and has taken parties to explore the roots of the Christian faith in Israel/Palestine, Turkey and Greece. He has twice gone with British Christians to experience the culture, worship and beauty of Zimbabwe and South Africa. He believes the love of God in Jesus is for any and all to experience and has dedicated his life to make this love known. For example he is a Street Pastor ministering in Jesus' name among those out long into the night in Bromsgrove.

For leisure Richard returns to his rural roots spending time in the countryside working on and with his classic tractors. As a couple they enjoy the coast and TV quizzes.
